My Time in Val d’Isere

Hi Guys,

I have just returned from my trip from Val d’Isere, in France for a week of relaxing, and drinking. Val d’Isere is a ski resort in the middle of France. However I couldn’t actually afford all the hire of the ski equipment etc.

It was a tactical decision on whether I would just go and relax, or try this skiing thing again, which we all know required balance, co-ordination, and skill. Three things I do not posses. Val D

So the flight, out was a nice flight out. There was a long transfer (longer than I expected) and we finally arrived to the vieux village, in Val d’Isere very close to the heart of the resort centre. The Following morning, as there was the best snow in 20+ years. A few of us non skiers had decided to go up into the mountain and check it out. So we grabbed a pedestrian pass, and headed up there. To be honest, once youv’e seen one set of snow covered mountains, you’ve seen them all. Yes you boarders and skiers can get stroppy with me… But I just don’t get it! However getting back to the story, we carried a couple of beers up there to look at the mountain and just sit. Which we did, however we did not plan on is to have a HUGE snowball fight with a random French Family. In which the father, Mother, and two kids all got involved in throwing so many snow balls it wasn’t funny…Actually it was. Which was a fantastic start to the holiday. The that evening I introduced the group to the Drinking Game rules, in which is extreme fun! We even had the chalet staff join in. So after about 1 ½ hours of drinking, one of the staff members had to start working, however was too drunk she was sent upstairs not to work for the evening… Oops! The power of my influence, when it comes to alcohol!

So after the hang over and a couple of days of relaxing, and doing not a lot, we decided to go out on our final night. Lets just say large night, Again, with the drinking games, fighting with a bouncer, where he picked me up by my belt.. Broke my belt, which involved a very embarrising situation, where I needed to use some string, to keep my pants up… In which he thought it would be a funny idea, to shove me into a closet, whilst I was trying to put on this belt made of string… Once I had made my belt, escaped from the closet, he decided he would “Accidently” trip me over when walking past, making me fall over quite dramatically, with my head hitting the table quite harshly. So there was only one thing to do… Sit on the next available chair, and chat up the nearest girls that I joined… Now at this point I should point out, that whilst I was in France, my French sucked….Quite possibly one of the funniest experiences I have had. If anyone can recommend some good phrases in that I can use on my travels this summer please email them to me. So after all this, I have a nice 18 hours on a train to get back to London, which I have just got into. As you may have noticed I have been quite busy with my site, and I have Re done my site totally. To assist me whilst I am Travelling. The Gallery Has been re-devoloped which makes life easy. Clickty Click me for the Gallery Which has the photos of Val d’Isere. The other thing you may not know as you may Is that I am off traveling, throughout Europe over summer. So in about 2 weeks time, I shall publish my rough plans on this website… So be sure to Check back. Ok that’s all for now, I would love a couple of emails from you all, about what is going on with you guys? Cheers J
