St Johan, and Venice… The expensive story!

So i’m in Venice at the moment, just about to catch my ferry to Athens tomorrow. The 35 hour ferry ride on deck is good for me, i keep telling myself. So is the 3 hours more in a bus or train. Not to mention being eaten alive by the mozzies in Venice.

Unfortunately there are no photos at this stop, for one reason… It costs 5 Euro or 10 Australian Dollars an Hour!

Hopefully In Greece it will be cheaper, however for the moment this will have to do.

St Johann is really a nice little place to sit back, relax. Or do those extreme sports like skydiving that you have put off for years. After challenging the owner of the pub that i was at to a shot off, who can have the most shots without passing out or spewing. For some reason the following day i didn’t actually get to do any of the extreme sports. Go Figure????

So after chilling in St Johann, i came to Venice. Where i think the saying being trapped in surburbia hell came from. If you can read a map successfully, you still wont find your way out. The Best way is to guess the general direction you wish to go, and head that way. Then check the map for a big street sign to see if you are in the right direction.

It took the group we formed 1 hour to San Marco square. Then 2 and a half to get out of the square to find the bus stop again! They say the best thing to do is to get lost in Venice, and enjoy it. Well I did, i thoroughly did, however sun burnt and hot it was. Yeh about 37 degrees today. Thank God the camp site cabins have air conditioning, but i’m going to have to get used to it. Aparently the greek islands are just as bad.

Ok thats enough from me for the moment. Hopefully it will be cheap enough to report back from Athens!
