Mykonos
So, I’m currently in Mykonos the Windy Island of the Greek Islands, and well your not going to believe it but it is windy. I’m Currently staying in the Contiki Resort in Mykonos, which realistically is in the middle of no where, 11km’s from the town which is not very big at all, and really another expensive place to be. Let me put it in perspective for you. A Redbull and Vodka will set you back approximately 10 Euro, or close to 20 Australian Dollars. I mean for a Island that has absolutely nothing to it, What the Hell is going on here?
So the Island is not as busy as i thought, too expensive to party, and i caught half an hour of sun yesterday, where i thought nice. About 30 degrees… Didn’t facter in the Wind. Actually it was about 37, so here i am reporting Sunburnt to hell. Pink as like a nice piece of Jucy Lamb, and bored out of my mind because i can’t afford to do anything. Slowly waiting for Monday to come, and take me away to Santorini, which apparently will be the highlight of my trip, and i’ve been warned not to get suckered in by its charm.
So apart from sitting here doing not a hell of a lot. I have had some time to watch the BBC news, listening to all this stuff happening in Lebanon, Israel etc, and everyone knows how i really don’t like Lebanon as a country and its people, BUT what is with the US thinking it can take sides with Israel, a country that has only been around for 50 years, which has been fighting with every other of its neighbours in this time, and before. How can the US supply the Israelies, who fight with everyone and cause MOST of the middle east Tension? Nick… Feel free to add your comments and correct me ![]()
Getting back to Mykonos, It is remarkably like Ios, in the fact that the scenery is basically Rocks and Sea! Plus some strange looking windmills that really don’t seem too effective.

My first post on your website.. yay
this Israel/Lebanon thing.
Israel isn’t the country that causes tension in the middle east. The other countries don’t believe it has a right to exist. They don’t believe there should be a country for the Jews. They believe it should be an arab state like the rest of that part of the world. Israel is fighting for its right to exist. Its right to exist without suicide bombings happening every single week (which I may add aren’t broadcasted on the news very often). And it is fighting against terrorism. Hezbollah is a terrorist group that hides behind civilians. This unfortunately leads to many civilians being killed in the war as Israels aim is to demolish the terrorist network. I just watched a video showing terrorists that were firing ketusha (don’t know the spelling) rockets drive off and hide in a civilians household. This house was then bombed by the Israeli’s. US supports Israel as they believe Israel has a right to exist and they are also anti-terrorism. I know there are other views to this situation but I hope for people to start to understand it from Israels point of view. The reporting of the war, especially in Australia, is extremely one sided and may incite much anti-semitism.
Ok theres my rant. Hope not to have offended too many.

Thankyou for clearing it up for me Terri, I knew someone out there would be smart enough to have an opposing view. Reading this, i am know divided in my opinion. However what i have difficulty with is that these Rockets are usually against, tanks and airstrikes. A Poor mans army/militia vs the superpower of the USA. Looks like i have more thinking to do… Thankfully there is not much else to do around here otherwise i would be in trouble…
