Venice.. Gelato, Gondolas, and Pizza that could feed a small african country
So i’m back in Venice after that marathon ferry ride from Athens/Patras, and the upgrade to the seating from the deck to the Airline type seating did not go as i planned, as the ship was quite empty, and would you believe it. The airconditioning was stuck on freezing cold. So i was wrapped up in my sleeping bag, hoodie, and anything else i could find to keep me warm, compared to the 37-40 degrees it was outside… No wind this time!
So after arriving in Venice yesterday i couldn’t be bothered going back into Venice from my camp grounds, after that boat ride and was walking past one of the bus drivers when he asked.. Its not too early to have a drink is it? Which was the start of a session and a half with bugger all sleep, not much food, and way to many beers, it made it into a very funny night. The old line “Lets get naked and talk” came out a couple of times.
Anyways, today i wake up with a large hangover as expected from the heavy drinking, shots etc… I also remember saying to myself that i wasn’t doing this heavy drinking thing ever again. I go in to Venice, dismissing my body saying No, holding back the urge to throw up everytime we went around a corner and started to go and get lost in Venice.. The Best way really. Then i came across this idea, How about a Gelato to make this hangover dissapear… It worked, however i have now found what my new addiction in Italy will be. Gelato! Then after a while of walking around, almost walking into a Gondola.. Yes i know its in the water, but i really wasn’t looking where i was going. I found this little dodgy place that was selling slices of pizza which looked nice. Little did i know that the person i saw eating it had already 3/4 finished it. It was HUGE, enough to feed a small african country probably for a month. I mean this thing was about the size of a large Pizza from Pizza Hut for 3.50. Fresh, Hot, and awsome!
After that i just wandered around for the rest of the afternoon, and came back to the camp grounds, having an awsome pasta with Mussels, and other small clams, oh and about 3 million cloves of Garlic… I’m sure the person next to me and my room mates for the night, will appreciate it!
So i’m off to Rome for the next week, and will report back with all the wonderful sights, and food from Rome. On a side note, it seems i have a few fans of this site, and it appeared on MSN.co.uk the other day… With the amount of readers going from about 50 to now 650! So if any of you new readers want to ask any questions… Please write your comments below and i will get back to you ASAP.

Dude, ‘lets get naked and talk’ with an Italian bus driver? Where is this voyage of discovery taking you. You really need to get your ass to Ibiza with me man. You need some serious ‘camping’ action !! Keep it real big fella.

And in Justos defence the ‘let’s get naked and talk’ comment stems from a certain Saffa getting drunk in Val D!! Besides, Justo hasn’t got history with bus drivers, just doormen!!
