Camera Obscura

My First experiment apart from standard photography, i’ve tried Camera Obscura, something literally from the 1800′s, when cameras were not really cameras.

The basic principal is this, that you start off in a room (Preferrably your bedroom or something) that has a window. Then cover the window completely, when i mean completely i mean where there is no light escaping at all, preferably with a Black plastic would actually be best, and tape it against the window. That said I did it the cheapest way, which involves two rolls of 10m Aluminium a hell of a lot of sticky tape, and the same amount of patience. After close to an hour of doing it the cheapest way (Next time i’m buying a piece of black plastic) I finally got the window to my liking and made my first hole.

These are my results. Unfortunately the day the weather turned extremely poor by the time I ended up being able to complete my project. I would recommend if you can to ensure that you have a nice bright sunny day. Ensure you make the window pitch black, so I would recommend using a bit of cardboard or a big black plastic.

Here are a few sites that inspired me, and these are what it was meant to look like. At the end of the day, it wasted 4 or so hours of my day but i was constructive and creative.
