Boston

Here I am in my final blog from cold, wet, miserable Boston. I worked out why they call this area New England, Its because its wet and rainy a lot. Of the 3 days that i’ve been here, two have been rainy, miserable etc, and one my first day was OK. I’m off to Orlando tomorrow for hopefully sunnier, better weather. I’ve walked probably 30 – 40kms per day here, as Boston is known as the “Great American walking city”. It is relatively flat ground around the city which is a massive plus in my book, although the streets aren’t always fantastic.

I’ve experienced the New England Clam Chowder, as well as New England Lobster, and I do really like the Clam Chowder. I’ve sat for a couple of hours now @ Quincy’s market absorbing the market, and all of its delights. I’ve tried to go to a ball game the last two days, but yesterdays was rained out and it only had a tiny bit of rain so i think tonights game must be washed out completely cause it has barely stopped raining all day.

I’ve hit up a few bars so far to try and absorb as much “culture” as I can, and i’m pleasantly surprised that they mainly seem to be quite fun places, and although i still haven’t had a beer I could see how it could be a fun place.

American Delicassies i’ve tried and my opinion so far

  • Hot dog … Sausage Sandwich is just as good
  • New York Pizza…. Ok I’ll give them that one
  • Buffalo Wings …. Average
  • Clam Chowder… Really outstanding
  • Green mountain coffee…Terrible
  • Dunkin dounuts coffee… Drinkable
